5 SUMMER HVAC Tips

Summer has come and most of us will be cranking up the AC to deal with the rising temperatures. 
There are certain things you can do to to maximize your cool factor and minimize dollars flying out of your wallet.

1. Clean your filters! We know it sounds obvious but you just wouldn't believe how many people forget and then wonder why the room isn't cool.
2. Love your condenser. Make sure it is also clean and the fins aren't all squashed and bent. It's about AIRFLOW people. Get it? AirFlow? OK moving on. 
3.  Seal those windows. I know I know - you want fresh air. we all do, but go through the trouble of sealing and if you have to, resealing windows and doors. The money you save will be worth the minimal effort.it takes to do this. 
4. Ceiling fans are you friends. Set your ceiling fan to counter clockwise. This pushes cool air down. This is especially important if you have high ceilings. 
5. Your unit doesn't like the heat either. In fact neither does your thermostat. If you can keep units installed in shady area, that helps keep it efficient. Same with thermostats. They don't like living near a stove.
